Unfortunately Philly doesn't have a wide variety of places go to for these unlimited booze brunches but I have tried two: Jones and Red Owl Tavern. Let the battle begin.
Some of the best weekends start off with drunk brunch. What is drunk brunch you ask? It's basically brunch with the option of unlimited mimosas, bellinis, sangria, or bloody mary's for a small price. Dont worry, I'm not an alcoholic, this is actually a thing. I swear.

Zento was a shot in the dark that ended in a bulls-eye. I found this place as I was browsing through Groupon and decided on a whim to get it cause it was such a good deal. $35 for a $75 meal?! I could not pass that up especially since Zento had great reviews on yelp. So there I was...staring at the Groupon "purchase" button and with one eye open I committed *click*. Boy am I happy that I'm an impulse shopper.
Zento's atmosphere is ultra swanky with its dim lighting and blasting jazz music. I was so excited to spend my 75 Groupon bucks! ("I'm rich b*tch" - Nene Leeks) We decided to start with the Tuna Pizza (Crisp Tortilla Fresh Minced Tuna, Cilantro, Seaweed Salad, Tomato and Spicy Sauce) and the Peking Duck hand roll (Spring Mix, Hoisin Sauce Wrapped with Soy Paper). I thought the Peking Duck roll was a little dry and lack luster but the Tuna Pizza was amazing. I have never seen tuna pizza on a sushi menu and didn't know what to expect but it was the most delicious item I had all night. |
